An established and highly respected public practice is looking for a senior leader to take ownership of a well-established client portfolio while working closely with the Partners on the firm's succession plans. For the right person, there is a clear pathway to equity within 18 months, backed by an active succession strategy.


The Opportunity

You'll inherit an established portfolio of SME and privately owned business clients while leading an experienced team of accountants.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance strategic client advisory with mentoring the team, reviewing technical work and helping shape the future direction of the practice.

Beyond managing a portfolio, you'll become a key member of the leadership team with the opportunity to influence business decisions, drive growth and ultimately become an equity partner.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage a well-established portfolio of SME and privately owned business clients.
  • Act as the trusted adviser across taxation, business advisory and commercial matters.
  • Review financial statements, tax returns and complex compliance work.
  • Mentor, coach and develop Managers, Seniors and junior accountants.
  • Oversee workflow, resourcing and team performance.
  • Partner closely with the Directors on client strategy and business initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and grow the practice.
  • Play an active role in the firm's succession and future leadership.

About You

You'll likely bring:

  • 10+ years' experience in Australian public practice.
  • Current experience as a Senior Manager, Associate Director or Director.
  • Strong technical capability across Business Services & Tax, including Division 7A, CGT, FBT, GST and SME advisory.
  • Experience managing client portfolios and leading high-performing teams.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • A genuine ambition to become an equity partner.
