This is a key position within a growing accounting practice, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm and supporting the Partners in running an efficient, high-performing business.
You’ll play a central role in keeping the practice running smoothly, managing workflows, improving systems and processes, and supporting junior team members to ensure consistency and quality across the board.
Key responsibilities
Practice Operations & Workflow
- Overseeing day-to-day operations across the practice
- Managing workflow, deadlines and ensuring work is progressing efficiently
- Identifying and improving internal systems, processes and ways of working
- Maintaining practice management systems and ensuring data accuracy
- Generating reports and providing operational insights where required
- WIP management
Team Support & Development
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members, helping them build capability and confidence
- Acting as a go-to person for questions, guidance and day-to-day support
- Assisting with onboarding and training of new staff
- Working closely with Partners to ensure the team is set up for success
Client & Administrative Support
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, managing enquiries and ensuring a high level of service
- Coordinating client onboarding and maintaining strong client relationships
- Assisting with document preparation, correspondence and general administration
- Supporting Partners with diary management, meeting coordination and general support
Compliance Support
- Assisting with company updates, ASIC changes and basic compliance requirements
- Maintaining company records and supporting lodgement processes where needed
- Working with internal systems (e.g. CAS BGL 360) to ensure information is current and accurate
About you
You’re an experienced practice professional who enjoys being at the centre of a business, keeping things organised, supporting people and driving efficiency.
You’ll bring:
- Experience within an accounting or professional services firm
- A strong understanding of how a practice operates day-to-day
- Confidence working with systems such as Xero, MYOB, CAS/BGL360 or similar
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to step in where needed
- A genuine interest in supporting and developing junior team members
