Role Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced Manager to lead a team of professionals while managing a diverse client portfolio. This role will see you providing high-level accounting and business advisory services, overseeing workflow and team performance, and contributing to the strategic growth of the firm. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients while mentoring and developing junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a client portfolio, ensuring high-quality service delivery and strong client relationships.
- Review financial statements, tax returns, and other compliance work across various entities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Oversee workflow, capacity planning, and team productivity.
- Manage WIP, budgets, and billing to ensure profitability targets are met.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and provide strategic advice to clients.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation and accounting standards.
- Lead team meetings, training sessions, and performance development.
- Drive business development initiatives and identify new client opportunities.
- Collaborate with Directors and contribute to leadership decisions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- CA or CPA qualified.
- 10+ years’ experience within public practice.
- Strong technical knowledge across tax and accounting, including CGT, FBT, Division 7A, GST, and Superannuation.
- Proven experience managing a client portfolio and leading a team.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting software (Xero preferred) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong ability to review work, identify risks, and provide strategic insights.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
