This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant ready to step into leadership, or an existing Assistant Manager looking for a role with more responsibility and long-term progression.

Rather than managing a large portfolio from day one, this position is focused on reviewing work, mentoring junior staff and supporting the Partner with the day-to-day technical management of the team. Think of it as a stepping stone into a broader management position.


The Opportunity

Working closely with the Partner, you'll become a key technical reviewer within the team, ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time while helping develop the next generation of accountants.

You'll still maintain client relationships and provide technical advice, but your focus will gradually shift away from pure production and towards leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review compliance work prepared by Senior and Intermediate Accountants.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members through technical and workflow matters.
  • Assist with workflow management, job allocations and deadlines.
  • Provide tax advice across privately owned businesses and family groups.
  • Support Partners with client meetings and complex technical matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Build towards managing your own team over time.

About You

You'll likely have:

  • 5-8+ years' experience in Australian public practice.
  • Strong Business Services & Tax experience.
  • Confidence reviewing tax returns and financial statements.
  • Solid technical knowledge across SME clients.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor others.
  • CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion).
