Role Overview:
My client is seeking a technically strong Assistant Manager to take on a predominantly review-based role within their Business Advisory team. This position will focus on reviewing tax compliance and financial reporting work, ensuring quality and accuracy across the team, while also supporting workflow management and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review financial statements, tax returns, and BAS prepared by junior and intermediate accountants.
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax legislation and accounting standards.
- Act as a key escalation point for technical queries within the team.
- Manage workflow and ensure deadlines are met across the compliance function.
- Maintain and build strong client relationships through high-quality delivery.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical support to junior team members.
- Assist with tax planning and advisory engagements where required.
- Collaborate closely with Managers and Partners on complex client matters.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CA or CPA qualified (or near completion).
- Minimum of 4–6 years’ experience in public practice accounting.
- Strong experience in reviewing tax compliance work.
- Solid knowledge of Australian tax legislation and accounting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and technical accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to mentor and support junior staff.
